Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Plain platform and related services ("Service") provided by Plain ("Plain", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization.
2. Description of Service
Plain provides a B2B customer support platform that includes a unified inbox, AI agents (including Ari), AI assistants (Sidekick), codebase integration (Lookup), trend analysis (Insights), Help Center tooling, and API access. Features are subject to change and will be communicated through our changelog.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at security@plain.com.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
- Transmit harmful, abusive, or discriminatory content through the platform.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive source code from any part of the Service.
- Use automated means to access the Service other than through our published API.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without prior written consent.
5. Fees and Payment
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Unpaid accounts may be suspended after a grace period.
6. Intellectual Property
Plain retains all rights to the Service, including all software, branding, and documentation. You retain ownership of all data you input into the platform. By using the Service, you grant Plain a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plain shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' written notice. Plain may suspend or terminate immediately for material breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and your data will be deleted per our retention policy.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
