Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2026

Plain is committed to ensuring that its website and platform are accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

Our Commitment

We believe accessibility is a fundamental right, not an afterthought. Our engineering and design teams build with accessibility in mind from the start, following inclusive design principles throughout our product development process.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements and landmark regions to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible throughout.
  • Color contrast: We maintain WCAG AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • ARIA labels: We use ARIA attributes where necessary to provide context for assistive technologies.
  • Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Reduced motion: Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query.
  • Responsive design: The site is fully functional at 400% zoom and on all screen sizes.
  • Skip link: A skip-to-main-content link is available for keyboard users.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some embedded third-party content (such as YouTube video embeds) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working to provide accessible alternatives, including transcripts and captions for video content.

Technical Specifications

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance:

  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • WAI-ARIA 1.2
  • JavaScript (with progressive enhancement)
